Sundial has many activities for kids and adults, including "sand castle building".  Sanibel Island's Gulf beach is famous for shelling, and you see everyone doing the "Sanibel Stoop" as they bend over to pick up shells.  Sanibel's beaches are also very safe for swimming, another reason Sanibel is a favorite with families.
